The amount of court dates, hearings and mediations we have been too….is ridiculous! Just to get the divorce down took over a year. In that year we also got severed with three different restraining orders. Even though all of them were dismissed, we still had court dates for all three, one of them we had like four court dates.
We have two new court dates coming up, one in January and one in March. I am praying this is the end and we can finally close this chapter. We are both so ready for this to finally be done, over and never brought back to life with her games again. We wouldn’t be in court fighting this after 18 years if it wasn’t for the ex-wife going on state assistance instead of getting a job.
The first judge the divorce went in front of wanted it done and over just as much as we did. He quickly got tired of seeing the ex-wife and my husband show up to court. I guess he felt the same way we did and knew there was a possibility of anything happening. Neither my husband or I were surprised it took so long to get the divorce finalized. But, it is something I will never understand. She was living with another man and playing house with him for like a year at that point.
The second judge definitely hated seeing them walk into the court room because by that point the ex-wife was literally filing something new every month and every month we fought it, she was constantly trying to get his drivers license suspended knowing he needed it to keep his job. Unfortunately, the company he worked for had major issues in the payroll department and would miss payments all the time, they would take them out of his check but, would “forget” to send them. It was fucking ridiculous! And instead of us paying directly to child support ourselves, she demanded it go through the company. I wholeheartedly think she did that just so she could harass him and the company every week.
The restraining orders were a damn joke and the judge saw right through them. The first one she filed, before the divorce was done, was denied immediately. She filed a supplemental claim and got a court date. The supplement was the most ridiculous shit I’d ever read. The lies literally fell off the page. The court date was hilarious! Her lawyer actually came up to my husband and said “We will drop this if you forget about the fraudulent birth certificate”. That didn’t work….
While all the restraining orders were happening, she continued to harass us constantly. Literally showing up at places we would be at, calling non-stop and following us around town whenever she saw us. Yet, she was screaming to the court she was scared for her safety and had to have a restraining order in place to keep her safe. When the restraining order for herself didn't work, she added in the kids, stating she was scared for their lives.
One of the restraining orders court dates she actually brought the oldest kid with her to testify for her. She was like 11…WTF! She had her own daughter ready and waiting to lie on her soon to be ex-husband in front of a judge. Thankfully, it never got to that point, the judge threw it out. I am beyond grateful that the kid didn’t get a chance to get on the stand and lie for her mother. I am still curious as to what her mother had brainwashed her to say.
Mediation with Child Support Enforcement was always a damn joke! To begin with they treated my husband like a second class citizen, ignored him and pushed him off anytime he tried to answer a question or make a statement. They lied constantly.
Currently the ex-wife is trying to circumvent the Judge in our state by going straight to the Child Support Office here and demanding that they enforce a FL judgement from 2011. The Judge here made it very clear to the attorney for Child Support here that she would NOT enforce an order from a different state when my husband is currently fighting that order in the state it is from, FL. The ex-wife is not happy and is showing the courts that she will do anything to get what she wants.
Don’t worry, I called the Child Support office here in our state, spoke to the case worker and explained everything to her. That we have two standing court dates in FL fighting all of this bullshit. I also e-mailed everything to her that she needed to show the Judge here that has scheduled a court date here for January, before the court dates in FL. The same Judge that said she would enforce this out of state order until everything was finalized in FL. I also have an email going out to both Judge’s in the morning also explaining everything to them with all the court date information from both states.
